Aberdeen 'A' For County Final

Fraserburgh Not Disgraced.

Aberdeen A succeeded in getting the better of Fraserburgh in the semi-final of the Aberdeenshire Cup competition at Fraserburgh, but had to fight for their victory. Although beaten by four goals to one, Fraserburgh were by no means disgraced, and it was only in the second period that the Pittodrie side asserted itself.<.br> Even play marked the opening, but ten minutes after the start McRobbie, in attempting to clear, put through his own goal. Undaunted, Fraserburgh attacked, and shots by Buchan and McDove went close. Blackwell was kept busy for a time, but ultimately Aberdeen got going, and McIntosh saved with difficulty shots from Merrie. Both defences did well, and the score remained Unaltered until the interval.
Aberdeen attacked vigorously on the resumption, and the Fraserburgh defence was kept on the stretch.
After ten minutes' play McLaren increased the Aberdeen total from a free kick, and a few minutes later Merrie added a , third goal. At this stage McRobbie, the Fraserburgh right back had to retire. Despite this handicap, the home team attacked, and A. Bain reduced the leeway from a penalty. In another Aberdeen raid Polland secured a fourth goal. Following this the home team were kept on the defensive.
