This fixture was played yesterday at Pittodrie in good weather, and before a fairly large turnout of spectators. Teams:- Broxburn: Anderson; Gordon, White; Sibbald, Wilson, Low; Blair, Stevenson, Chamber, Clark, Low. Aberdeen: Bisset; Walker, Ross; Sangster, Thomson, Murphy, Smith, C. Mackie, Macdonald, Milne, Paterson. Referee - P. Simpson.
The first half was briskly contested, but with neither side scoring a goal. The Aberdeen halves played splendidly, and, although the forwards showed great dash and vigour, they invariably close in were too erratic in their shooting. The defence of both teams was excellent, Bisset saved several hot shots. Mackie and Milne were the most prominent of the Aberdeen forward line. Wilson and Chamber were conspicuous for the Broxburn.
On resuming, the Aberdeen had the best of the exchanges. Strenuous efforts were made to fetch a goal, but on every occasion Anderson proved too strong and methodical for the homesters. Nearing the close, Milne, with commendable precision, notched the ball. Broxburn was unable to equalise.
