Dundee Reserves Held at Dens.
The Aberdeen reserves did well to take a point from Dundee "A" at Dens Park, where they drew 2-2. Aberdeen, took matters in hand from the start, and David missed narrowly, and Paterson, after breaking right through, was held in the act of shooting. Even exchanges followed until near the interval, when Cumming and his two backs were well tested. Ten minutes after the resumption Dundee took the lead through Willacy, and shortly afterwards Balfour added a second. The Aberdeen goal ran several narrow escapes after this, Cumming saving from McCarthy, Gavigan, and Balfour. As the game neared a close Aberdeen rallied in great style, and Falloon kicked the ball out of Campbell's arms to reduce the leeway. A few minutes from the final whistle Paterson got through to equalise.Source: Press & Journal, 7th September 1931
