As second team boss Teddy Scott pointed out about the team which won a marvelous victory over Hearts at Tynecastle: "The average age of the side was 16.8." No wonder Teddy isn't keen on night matches for his young side. Half of them are hardly old enough to be out that late.
The triumph over Hearts certainly gave the lads a lift. And the win was achieved without regular Reserve goalkeeper Bryan Gunn, who was injured, or his deputy young Stevie Smith who is sidelined with a broken leg.
David Lawtie, who has been farmed out to the Highland League, was called up for the game. The game ended with the Dons 3-1 on top and the goals came from John McGachie (2) and Paul Wright.
