THE Young Dons lacked a sharpshooter in attack against Dundee "A" at Pittodrie on Saturday. They were beaten 3-0.
They had more of the game in the first half and despite some good leading up play by the forwards, with Pearson, I. Rodger and McNeil all figuring prominently, Rennie, the Dundee 'keeper, was not seriously troubled.
Most of the shooting in the Aberdeen team was done by O'Neil, their right half, the most effective player in the home team.
Dundee held the balance in the second half. Their play was more direct than that of Aberdeen and their forwards, particularly Gerrie, were quicker on the draw.
Curran did well in goal for Aberdeen. Merchant, right back, had a clever opponent in Hill, but gave as good as he got after a shaky opening spell.
Pearson had some clever runs on the left wing, and I. Rodger had a good first half but faded after the interval.
The former Aberdeen players, Massie and Roy, both played well for Dundee.
