Aberdeen 'A' Down

After leading by two clear goals at one period of the game, Aberdeen "A" were beaten in their first Alliance match of the season by Nithsdale Wanderers at Sanquhar by the off goal in five. McLeod and McKenzie were Aberdeen "A's" scorers. I am informed that Yuille gave a very good account of himself in this game.

After holding a lead at one time of two goals. Aberdeen "A" were beaten by Nithsdale Wanderers at Sanquhar in a Scottish Alliance match by 3-2. Rain fell continuously throughout the game, and the pitch was in a deplorable state. Aberdeen "A" had much the better of the exchanges in the first period, and McLeod gave them a well-deserved lead before the interval. Early in the second half McKenzie put Aberdeen "A" further ahead, but subsequently the Wanderers rallied with great effect, and inside fifteen minutes they penetrated the Pittodrie defence three times. Crawford (twice) and Thomson had the distinction of beating Yuille. Aberdeen came away again in the closing minutes, but they failed to draw level.
