ABERDEEN "A" should have won by a much more convincing margin than 3-2 against East Stirling Pittodrie on Ssturdsy.
That they did not do so was mainly because of weakness at close quarters. All of the Aberdeen goals were scored in the first half, and though they held the initiative for most of the second half they lost two goais.
Of the home forwards, Kiddie and Pearson were most effective. Gibson was a versatile leader and headed two goals, both off crosses from Kiddie.
The inside-forwards, Glen and Smith, were seen to advantage only in flashes, and generally their play was marred by inaccurate passing. Smith's goal was, however, a picture effort.
Honours in defence went to the full backs, Ashe and Pacione. McKenzie, at centre half, never had the measure of Stirling, the visiting centre-forward.
In his first appearance at Pittodrie, Baikie, left half, from Hutchisons Vale Juveniles, gave a passable performance.
