Aberdeen "A" Fail at Tynecastle.
Aberdeen "A" met with a nasty setback against the strong-going Hearts at Tynecastle, being beaten by three goals to one. Hearts were aggressive at the start, but Legge and David held them at bay. The homesters got a shock when Yorston nipped in to gather a long clearance, and send the ball past Crosskey into the net. For a time Aberdeen held the advantage, and Crosskey did well to save a shot from Armstrong. Subsequent exchanges favoured Hearts, and only a great save Cumming kept Chalmers from equalising. Aberdeen attacked on the resumption, but Hearts quickly recovered, and Cumming saved from Miller. Persistent pressure by the homesters was rewarded when O'Neill levelled the scores. Shortly afterwards Chalmers put them ahead. Following a spell of midfield play, Gardiner put the issue beyond doubt by netting a third goal for Hearts.Source: Press & Journal, 4th January 1932
