The Young Dons' convincing 3-1 victory over Hibernian at Pittodrie on Saturday last was their sixth successive one, which brought them up to second position in the Reserve League championship.
Andy Geoghegan, in his resplendent sky blue rig-out, had a conspicuous and excellent game in goal despite an arm injury. Chick McLelland gave one of his best displays yet, and had the honour and just reward of scoring the opening goal. Walker McCall, with two goals to his credit, also played well. In the half-back line, James Crawford keeps improving, and Noel Ward had another excellent game. Charles Esslemont also improves steadily. Duncan Davidson, with his fast low crosses, created a lot of danger oh the right. On the heavy ground, it was good to see John Craig standing up to the trying conditions so well, and really captaining his side.
If I have made special mention of these, it in no way detracts from the part played by the remainder of the Reserve team. More and more, this shows that team work and eagerness to help one another is the hallmark of success.
