Clyde scorers: C. Watson, Thomson, C. Watson Aberdeen scorers:Grant, Main.
04/03/1916 | KO:
Although Clyde secured two points at the expense of Aberdeen, their display was by no means of a high standard. In the first half Clyde were the superior team, and found the net twice, C. Watson and Thomson being the scorers. The visitors started the second half promisingly, and succeeded in drawing level. Grant scored the first goal, and Main, after a fine individual run, scored the second. Shortly before the finish a raid by Clyde enabled C. Watson to beat Anderson for the third time. The attendance numbered 4000.

Instead of having been defeated, Aberdeen deserved a draw in their game with Clyde at Glasgow, and a little luck would have given them this result. Aberdeen's forwards were troubled by the soft ground, although in the second half, when two goals down, they made a brilliant recovery, and had the scores level until 15 minutes from the finish. The first half was mostly in Clyde's favour. In the second half Grant scored for Aberdeen. Main got the equaliser a few minutes later, but Clyde had the last say, and scored the winning goal. Forward Clyde were well served. Archibald was the best of the Aberdeen front rank, but Main and Grant put in some useful work. The line as a whole, however, was not up to that of their opponents.
