Aberdeen 3 - 4 Aberdeen University

About 3000 witnessed an Aberdeenshire and District League match between Aberdeen "A" and University at Pittodrie last night. Aberdeen gave a trial to several local juniors.

University pressed for some time at the start but Murray and Chalmers were not found wanting when it came to the pinch. Once Sutherland saved a dangerous high ball. Alexander had one or two prominent runs for University. Aberdeen were the first score, Rankine netting after a nice run by the whole front line. University soon equalised, Allan heading past Sutherland from a corner. Brisk forward play by the students subsequently caused the A's defence some anxiety. When the A's front rank got away, however, there was more finish in their work and Mackie beat Mulligan with a fast oblique shot.

On the resumption the "A's" attacked without result. University made progress but with Sutherland out of his change they missed a fine chance, the ball just crossing in front of goal. After some up and down play Lawrie, the University centre, got a well-taken goal. From a penalty D. R. Dugan put University on the lead, and Stalker gave them a fourth goal. Rankine netted for Aberdeen with a capital effort. For the way they took their chances the students deserved their win.
