Aberdeen At Huntly

Aberdeen fielded practically a first team at Huntly, where, in an enjoyable game they defeated the local team in an Aberdeenshire League match by 4 goals to 0. A record attendance for Strathbogie Park witnessed the game. It took Aberdeen nearly half an hour to break down the home defence, so well did Huntly defend. Cosgrove opened the scoring from 18 yards out, and Pirie added another from close in. This was followed by a goal from McLeod. Huntly kept at it, but failed to open their account, and at half-time the score was: Huntly 0, Aberdeen, 3.
Aberdeen had nearly all the play in the second half, but the Huntly defence kept them out until Cosgrove scored from the touchline after half an hour. Blackwell's goal had two narrow escapes, when the 'keeper was beaten with a shot from Paterson but Forsyth kicked clear from below the bar. W. Munro also had hard luck with a shot that hit the crossbar. Huntly played a plucky game, and were in no way disgraced by their 4-0 defeat. Every man played the top his form, and were never over-awed by the First Leagues. Aberdeen played nice football, and the game was very much enjoyed by the spectators.

After the game the teams were entertained by Provost Christie, Huntly.
