Greig was the hero of his side in the Aberdeen and District League fixture at Recreation Park, Peterhead, yesterday evening, between Peterhead and Aberdeen. He gave a magnificent display of goalkeeping, and resisted the Aberdeen forwards so successfully that the city team themselves scored only three goals. Inadvertently, when, punting out a fast, high ball from Reid, Greig netted, making Aberdeen's total score four goals. Peterhead were unable to bring about the fall of Blackwell's citadel. They put up a very plucky fight, but there were apparent weaknesses.
In the first half, when Aberdeen got three goals, through MacLachlan, Edward, and Greig, Peterhead were inclined to be rather slow, but they were not "shy" in the second half, with the result that it was not until the game was almost over that Edwards managed to bore his way through and net his team's fourth goal. Reid was the star turn on the field. His display delighted the spectators. Although the Aberdeen players took matters easily in the second half, they made every endeavour to increase their score. Blackwell was never seriously tested by any of the Peterhead forwards.
