Aberdeen Get Points At Elgin

Playing more less exhibition football, Aberdeen "A" took full points from Elgin City in an Aberdeenshire league match at Borough Briggs, Elgin, last night, winning by three goals to nil. Twenty minutes from the start Cheyne opened Aberdeen's account from close in, tipping the ball nicely over Parle's arms. The second half was only a few minutes' old when Smith, after cleverly beating Paterson, sent across to Merrie, who beat Parle at Close quarters, and two minutes later Love cut in from the wing to score the third and last goal. The home half-line was greatly strengthened by the inclusion of Paterson (Forres Mechanics), who, apart from the rear defenders, was the only player the Elgin side to impress. Sutherland was the pick of the forwards, who had few scoring opportunities. For Aberdeen, Ritchie. Black, Merrie, and Cheyne took the eye, although the whole team gave a convincing display.
