Aberdeen Reserves Shine

Two successive, impressive victories by the second team have considerably enhanced their situation in the Premier Reserve League which had flagged a little this season.
A 3-2 win over St. Mirren at Pittodrie was followed by a 2-0 victory at Tannadice Park two weeks ago. "We played very well in each of the games with the young lads in the team working extremely hard," said coach Teddy Scott. "However, the display against Dundee United was our best of the season without a doubt.
"It was such a good all round display by the team that I wouldn't single anyone out. They all did well. Their attitude was tremendous. They were always prepared to work for each other and run about." Praise, indeed, from a man who only hands it out when it's due.
Eion Jess provided the lead after about 10 minutes and then, near the end, the young striker was brought down in the penalty area and Stevie Gray scored from the penalty spot. Gray was, in fact, the 'old man' of the team, a forcible reminder of the youth of the rest!
