Name: Donald McGillivray Grant
Joined the Dons from Hearts and received good reports in his four first team matches, but in 1939 he joined the police in Dundee before signing up to the RAF during the Second World War - in April 1941 - where he trained in Rhodesia as a pilot; ultimately flying Lancaster bombers over Europe. Returned to the police after the war and retired with the rank of Chief Inspector.
