Carrie was a member of the first AFC Women squad that battled its way though the divisions and in to SWPL1. On 13th May 2022 it was announced that she would be retiring from the game after the last game of the season.
Following that last match, Carrie said: "It was really special for me to come on and to wear the captains armband. I was nearly crying! I didn't expect it at all, I was just delighted to get onto the pitch. When I was given the armband, it was a really special moment for me, to be able to captain the club I have been at for many years.
"It has been an amazing journey with the club. I have achieved more than I could have ever dreamt of. Getting the chance to play at Pittodrie was amazing. They are such a good group of girls. After we got relegated a few years ago, to go and get back to back promotions and to get back into this league, where we belong, it has been amazing."
On 27th December 2022 it was announced that Carrie was joining the Inverurie Loco Works coaching team.
