At the time Eric signed for the Dons the press reported the spelling of his surname as "Baikie" instead of "Bakie" and persisted with the error until he moved to Dunfermline athletic in 1951.
Eric was a part time player through his career so that he could continue his employment in the Civil Service with the Ministry of Labour.Died: Edinburgh, 13th May 2015
