After spending ten years playing most of his football in North America, local man Steve joined his home town club in the summer of 1930 and played an impressive 258 matches for the Dons first team before eventually giving way to George Johnstone. Steve came out of retirement to play some games for the Reserves in the late 30's when they were struggling to field a suitable keeper.
