In Junior football, Teddy was a part of the Sunnybank club that won the Scottish Junior Cup in 1954. He was signed by Aberdeen in that year but made only one first team comepetetive appearnce, playing mainly in the Reserves. He joined Elgin City in 1957.
Following his playing career Teddy returned to become the Dons trainer, coach and eventually kit manager, serving under no less than 15 Aberdeen managers during his Pittodrie career.
Teddy retired from Pittodrie in August 2003 after serving the club for an astonishing 49 years.
