Hard Pittodrie Game |
 |
About 3000 spectators were present at a keen tussle between Aberdeen and Clyde at Aberdeen. The only goal of the game fell to Clyde, and was obtained about half-way through the first half. Lindsay was the scorer. The winners were the better lot, being sound in defence and active in front.

Clyde had to play hard for their goal win at Pittodrie. While they played good football and showed a fine understanding, they were a bit lucky to pull through. Their defence had a gruelling time in the last fifteen minutes, and Shingleton was fortunate to stop Perry's grounder in the last minute of the game.Clyde played with the wind in the first half and scored in twenty-three minutes through Lindsay, who caught a rebound from the crossbar by McGhee and gave Anderson no chance. The visiting forwards were fast and clever, and none more than Shimmon, who was the best of the whole ten on show. The Aberdeen men although good individually at times, somehow could not get set, and in the second period, Cowan and Farrall stood up splendidly to the rushes. Had they got a point Clyde could not seriously have complained, for Aberdeen had chances and experienced some hard line. It was a well contested game. Anderson was in great form again. About 3500 spectators were present.
