The Aberdeen 1 - 3 Dundee
Kick Off:    Allott       ?, ?, McInroy
Attendance: 0
Venue: Chanonry, Aberdeen
Within the enclosure at Chanonry about 2000 spectators assembled to witness a match between Aberdeen and Dundee. Keen interest was taken in the match. The opening passages were in favour of the strangers, Aberdeen, however, broke away about ten minutes after the start, and Allott sent in a beautiful cross shot which Barrett was unable to hold, with the result that the first goal fell to the home players. Rather taken aback by this occurrence, the Dundonians restarted with vigour, and before five minutes had elapsed Thomson, by a neat pass, gave Dundee an easy chance to score. The scores were thus equal. Within the next few minutes a second goal was secured by the same two players, while a third was added by McInroy. No more scoring took place in the first period. Soon after ends had been changed an element of roughness crept into the game, and this latterly became so prominent that players were frequently penalised. A few minutes from the finish two players came to blows, and it seemed as if play would have to be stopped. The ground was, however, promptly cleared, and the game resumed. Of the game during this period little need be said. As is always the case when roughness predominates, there was little real play. The game ended: Dundee, 3: Aberdeen, 1.

N.B. This was the first ever visit of the recently formed Dundee FC although their "A" team had played in the Granite City a couple of times previously.
