Victoria United 4 - 4 Orion
Kick Off:    ?, McFarlane, Morrice, McFarlane       Stopani, Stopani, James, Benzie
Attendance: 0
Venue: Victoria Bridge, Aberdeen
The match between these clubs at Victoria Bridge Grounds was one of the best and most exciting which has been witnessed in Aberdeen this season. The game was the occasion of the first encounter between the clubs this season, and naturally it excited great interest among the respective supporters, a large number of whom were present. The teams were: Victoria United: Sim; J. Ririe, Thomson; Annan, W. Ririe, Morrice; McPherson, McFarlane, Forsyth, Banks, Ferris. Orion: Edwards; McKay, Ross; Dawson, Low, Currie; James, Benzie, Gloag, Leggat, Stopani.

The game opened in a most sensational manner, for within the first five minutes Orion had scored twice. Stopani was the responsible player on both occasions. United, although somewhat taken aback by this onslaught, kept their heads, and, by judicious play, eventually managed to reduce the score against them by one. After this play settled down. A rush by the United forwards tempted Edwards to leave his post, with the result that before he could recover himself McFarlane had eluded the opposing players and sent the ball through. The game was now equal, and, although both sides worked with great vigour, neither had added to its total when half-time was announced.

On resuming, Orion missed a chance, but James soon made up for the blunder of his clubmates by scoring with a fine header. A penalty kick to United was without result, but their determined play was at length rewarded by a goal, which Morrice scored. McFarlane soon afterwards gave the ground club the lead for the first time, and it seemed as if they would maintain it to the last. This, however, did not happen, for within a few minutes of the call of time Benzie scored a lucky goal for Orion, and the game thus ended in a draw: 4 goals each.
