This match, which was played at Chanonry, was one of the most unpleasant that has been seen there for some time. Soon after the start rough play crept in, and the feeling shown culminated shortly before the close in John Davidson (Aberdeen) and Sinclair (Blairgowrie) coming to blows, with the result that the referee ordered both to leave the field. Aberdeen had the best of the play. Blairgowrie were first to score, and although Aberdeen managed to equalise, the strangers added another point, and at half-time crossed over a goal to the good, Aberdeen on resuming kept play almost entirely to their opponents' territory, and they did not relax their efforts till they had scored two goals. As the game drew to a close Our Boys paid several visits to the Aberdeen goal, which, however, being well defended, withstood all attacks. A few minutes from the close a fourth goal fell to Aberdeen. A feature of the game was the fine play of Neilson, of Blairgowrie. Result: Aberdeen 4, Our Boys 2.
