Orion 4 - 0 Dundee A
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: Cattofield, Aberdeen
The thaw which set in on Friday afternoon had the effect of rendering the football grounds in Aberdeen in a very unfit condition for play. The match between Aberdeen and Victoria United in the semi-final of the Aberdeenshire Cup ties had to be postponed, and, provided that the weather is suitable, will he played on Saturday next.

A friendly match between these teams was played at Cattofield on Saturday afternoon before a fairly large attendance. The grounds were in a wretched condition, there being about six inches of slushy snow. The teams were: Dundee - Gibson; Watson, Philip; F. Ferrier, Hamilton, Butchard; Bell, L. Tyndall, Richardson, J; Tyndall, Williamson. Orion - Morrison; Mackay, Ross; Low, Currie, Wight; Gloag, Benzie, Dawson, Leggat, Stopani. Mr Peter Simpson, Victoria United, was referee.

Richardson kicked off towards the east goal, and Dundee by means of close passing carried the ball well down the field. Low stemmed the rush, however, and Dundee had a try on the right side, where the ball went out. From the throw-in the home citadel was placed in danger, but Mackay cleared with a long kick. Coming away Orion got within shooting distance of the strangers' goal, and Gibson had to throw out a slow shot from Dawson. A cross shot from Stopani gave the ball to Low, who beat Gibson a few minutes from the commencement of the game. Orion kept up a determined attack for some time, and looked like scoring, Richardson gave relief to Dundee, but a foul in favour of Orion men near the goal looked dangerous for the strangers. It resulted in nothing, and the Blues had a spirited run along the centre of the field, Richardson dribbling in splendid style. Had the grounds been in anything like playable condition Dundee would have scored; but, as it was, shots directed at the goal went wide of the mark, while the players who made the attempt generally measured their length on the snow. A combined run on the part of the home forwards took them past the 25 line, and Taggart directed a shot towards goal, which Gibson stopped. The custodian might easily have saved, but he lingered too long. The second half was warmly contested, but the strangers' front division was weakened by Richardson having received a slight accident. Orion put on two goals in quick succession, and the game ended?Orion 4 goals, Dundee 0.
