SIGNAL VICTORY OF ABERDEEN.
In a Northern League fixture the Fair City Athletics and Aberdeen met at Chanonry before a fairly large turnout of spectators. The strangers were represented by their strongest combination, but the Aberdeen were without Smyth, who, through an accident, was unable to take his customary position between the posts, and Toman who is at present on tour in England with the Dundee. Hamilton, a promising player from the north, occupied the centre for Aberdeen, A great improvement has been observed in the Athletics' play in the interval since the Aberdeen defeated them at Perth in the end of last year, and it was expected that a close contest would be witnessed. Although very pleasant, the game was all in favour of the Aberdeen, who won by six goals to nil.
