McMEEKIN PROVES BIG SUCCESS.
Spectators to the number of 23 000 saw the Aberdeen F.C. players in action for the first time this season when a trial match was staged at Pittodrie last night. The "Black and Gold" team comprised the probable first team defence, and the Blues the first team attack.
Eight New Faces.
The eight new players signed during the close season were on view, and the majority acquitted themselves well. The outstanding success was McMeekin, whom Aberdeen secured from Parkhead Juniors.
A clever and tricky player of the Bobby Bruce type, he made himself popular with the crowd by his deft touches and the fact that he notched a hat trick.
The Black and Golds won by three goals to one, Love scoring for the Blues.
