Livi shatter Dons Home Record
The Livi hoodoo struck again at Pittodrie as Aberdeen?s winning home run was shattered in an afternoon the Dons fans in the 15,709 crowd would want to forget. This was also the first time since the start of the season that the Dons had suffered two defeats in a row. Aberdeen looked lethargic throughout and never looked like taking anything from the match as they weakly surrendered their fine home record. [audio:Better side] The home winning streak had made fourth spot in the table virtually their own, but this now began to look decidedly shaky. Livingston never reached the heights of their CIS 6-1 performance earlier in the season, which made the Dons surrender all the harder to take.

The first five minutes of the match were played in the middle of the park with neither side able to create a single chance. The first effort at goal came in the 9th minute when a Bisconti volley was driven well wide from 20 yards. Two minutes later, Winters delivered a cross that was cleared as the teams desperately tried to inject some life into the game. Aberdeen were beginning to exert more pressure without finding the opening. The closest was a Winters lob in the 15th minute, which landed on the roof of the net.

Livi had their first chance of the match in the 18th minute when Fernandez attempted to lob Kjaer from 30 yards. A minute later Thornley broke on the left, but failed to find one of his colleagues inside the penalty area. Both teams were struggling to create chances, but Winters did well in the 23rd minute when he found Darren Young at the fire side of the box. Young could only force a tame header goalwards, which Culkin held easily. Winters did well again in the 27th minute and once more set up Young who volleyed his effort over the crossbar.

Guntveit had a chance to score on the half hour mark as Winters once more turned provider, but again the shot went harmlessly high. A minute later Kjaer kept the Dons in the match after Bingham had put Fernandez through on goal. The keeper was out sharp and saved well. The Dons hit back immediately and a McGuire cross was turned wide by Dadi. The Dons almost made a costly error in the 34th minute when McGuire failed to cut out a Brinquin cross. Bingham took a poor first touch and Kjaer managed to block the shot. Livingston took the lead in the 38th minute after Fernandez showed some skill on the left before delivering a cross that Tosh turned in from six yards.

Esson replaced Kjaer at half time after the Dane had picked up an injury in the first half. The Dons were out of the blocks quickly and Winters forced the Dons first corner of the match in the 46th minute. From the resultant set play, Dadi headed wide. Livi soaked up the early pressure however and they went close to extending their lead in the 52nd minute when Bingham headed a Wilson free kick wide. Brinquin extended Livi?s lead in the 57th minute when he hit a 25yard effort beyond Esson with plenty of time to pick his spot. The Dons looked down and out at this stage and this was emphasised by a poor effort from Darren Young in the 59th minute. A minute later, Mackie replaced Thornley.

The Dons should have done better in the 62nd minute when Darren Young released Mackie. The youngster used his pace to burst into the box, but then hit his cross straight at Culkin. The game was over as a contest in the 67th minute when Andrews headed in a Wilson cross from close range. Derek Young replaced Dadi in the 74th minute, but it was to make little difference to a lethargic looking Dons team. Winters had a chance to claim a consolation goal in the 82nd minute, but his six yard effort was deflected for a corner.
