This East of Scotland League fixture at Tynecastle last night was played in a downpour of rain and iin the presence of 500 spectators. Brown scored for the Hearts after half an hour's play, and their lead was still intact at the interval. After having monopolised the play for the better portion of the second half, Aberdeen got the equaliser from Edgar, and the game ended in a draw of one goal each.

Before about 1000 spectators Aberdeen met the Hearts on Tynecastle in an East of Scotland league fixture on Wednesday. Against the wind Aberdeen opened splendidly. Ruddiman missed an open goal 5 minutes after the kick-off. Guthrie, through a mistake by McNicol got off, and though only ten yards from Macfarlane, he lifted the ball over the bar. Half an hour had gone before Hearts scored, Brown finding the net with a low shot, and thus the teams crossed over.
Immediately play was resumed Ruddiman scored a perfectly legitimate point, but the referee gave offside. Henry Low then had a try, but Forsyth cleared, only to have it returned by Halkett, who was in great form. The goalkeeper was over the line with the ball, but the referee turned a deaf ear to the appeals of McAulay and G. McNicol. Shortly afterwards, however, Edgar equalized with a shot of the unsavable order.
