Aberdeen 2 - 1 Celtic
Kick Off:  6:30 PM         Mackay
Attendance: 6,000
Venue: Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen
Celtic commenced a short northern tour at Aberdeen last night, when 6000 spectators saw the home team victorious by two goals to one. All the scoring took place in the first half. Rankine netted for Aberdeen shortly after the start, and Mackay, heading through, equalised. Just before the interval Rankine gave Aberdeen the lead. Although both goalkeepers were tested, and interesting passages occurred in the second period, there was no further scoring. Buckie will be visited by Celtic today, and Dundee tomorrow.

There were about 6000 spectators at Pittodrie last night, when Aberdeen defeated Celtic in an ordinary game by 2 goals to 1. All the scoring took place in the first half. Shortly after the start, following upon clever work ton he right wing, Rankine smartly turned the ball into the net. Later Pratt, the Celtic outside left, fastened on to a long pass by McMaster to centre and allow McKay to head through the equaliser. Aberdeen generally held the upper hand, and close on the interval Rankine shot what proved to be the winning goal for Aberdeen. The second half was contested in spirited fashion, but no further scoring took place. Both teams fielded strong elevens, and Celtic had McNair at back. Still clever and resourceful, the veteran internationalist did not exert himself unduly. The feature of the second half was the clever individual efforts to score made by McInally, but on one occasion he blotted his sheet badly when he kicked wildly over the bar with Anderson lying on the ground after having pushed away a shot from Pratt. Not at all an uninteresting game to watch, a draw would have done full justice to both teams.
