The Aberdeen league team visited Inverness last night, when in exhibition game they defeated Citadel at Citadel Park by 7 goals to 4.
The Scottish Leaguers got an enthusiastic welcome from a big crowd. Citadel had out their strongest team, and had the assistance of Main, of Nairn County. The game started quietly, but the visitors soon got into their stride, and with calculating method often nonplussed the home backs, which was the weakest part of the team. The Inverness forwards were plucky, but it was a surprise when R. Mackenzie smartly opened the scoring for Citadel with a wall-taken shot. Aberdeen soon equalised through Thomson. Citadel maintained their clever play, and Mackenzie again put his team the lead. Before half-time Aberdeen, who were exerting with great pressure, equalised, Miller being the marksman.

In the second half Aberdeen excelled with pretty play, and Rankine gave them the lead. Citadel, however, were playing fairly well, and Mackenzie equalised. After this Aberdeen played strongly, and gave a very fine exhibition. In the later stares play ruled entirely in favour of Aberdeen, and Rankine, Miller, and Middleton made their goal total up to seven. In a rally by the Citadel attack Mackenzie got to score his fourth goal.
