Late Pearson Goal Foils the Dens Park Men

DUNDEE and Aberdeen are still locked in the semi-final of the Dewar Shield.

The Dark Blues beat the Dons 2-1 at Dens Park last night in the second leg, to leave the teams equal in aggregate with two goals each.
It looked odds on Dundee for the final. Until six minutes from the finish they led by two goals, scored in the first half. Then Pearson produced Aberdeen's goal with terrific shot from the wing.
The replay will be held over until next season. Dundee won the toss for venue, and the game will be played at Dens Park.
Aberdeen were not impressive. Dundee were much the better team in the first half. They could find their man better, and were much more dangerous than the Dons in front of goal.
The Dons got off to a bad start. Within two minutes they were a goal down. Boyd pushed a free-kick through to Stott, and the Dundee centre stabbed the ball goalwards. It struck the post, rebounded against Curran and into the net.
The Dark Blues always seemed to carry more thrust. Aberdeen's raids seldom looked like producing goals. Several shots were charged down, but the Pittodrie forwards were lacking in scoring ideas.

Electrifying Shot

With twenty-four minutes played, Dundee got their second goal. Follon, well upfield, hooked the ball neatly into the goalmouth. Curran rushed from his goal, failed to make contact, and Ewen's header dropped into the net.
Dundee seemed safe for the final until six minutes from the end, when Pearson infused new life into the game.
The spectators were leaving when he suddenly released an electrifying shot from the left. The ball struck the far post and rebounded into the net.
