Dons' Smashing Win
THE Dons are well entrenched as leaders the North-Eastern League. Their smashing 8-1 victory over Raith Rovers at Pittodrie and the home defeat of their nearest rivals. East Fife, have given them clear lead of six points.

In addition they have the best goal average of any senior team in Scotland. Raith Rovers did not deserve to be beaten by such a big margin. They played good football throughout.

Dons Rampant

There can be no denying the fact, however, that the Dons would have beaten any team on Saturday's form. It was their finest exhibition for a long time. The defence was very confident. The half-backs were brilliant, and the forwards simply bewildered the Kirkcaldy rearguard.
Johnstone, the Aberdeen goalkeeper, was not idle by any means. He impressed greatly by the way he cut out several dangerous balls. He was well guarded by Cooper and Ancell.
The half-back trio enhanced their reputation as the best in the League.
By reason of their goal-scoring feats. Gourlay, who had four, and Pattillo, who had three, were outstanding in a devastating attack. Dryden, too, played well. Ferguson, who had a goal, was crafty, and Bain a worker, though weak in control.
Rovers were plucky but unlucky at times. Keogh goal was not to blame for the heavy defeat. Hickman, Cairns. Donald (the Aberdeen Juniors' player), Conway and Wilkie, who got the only goal, were their outstanding men.
There were 8000 spectators.
