Dons' Defence Collapses
THE Dons lost their last game of the season at Pittodrie on Saturday, when Hearts beat them by 3-1. The Dons had themselves to blame. In the first half they were much the better team, but after the interval the defence collapsed.

Hearts are a very sound combination, witht young players who can be called upon at any time to take their places in the first team.
Saturday's game was a triumph for Kelly, the visiting centre, who had the hat-trick. It was only after the home defence lost its grip, however, that he came into the limelight. He is a leader of considerable ability. His positioning was excellent, he has speed and fine ball control, and he is a grand opportunist.
Dunlop held Kelly on a tight rein until both right and left flanks of the defence gave way. G. Johnstone also did his work well in goal. Both Bremner and D. Johnston were too slow, Taylor was far from being at his best in the second half, and McKenna was far too rash in going to tackle.
The forward line did well enough while it was receiving proper support. Junior at Inside left created a good impression. Armstrong led the line skilfully, but only occasionally did Strauss reveal glimpses of his old form.
Pattillo had a good game at outside right, while Baird showed clever ball control.
Watters saved Hearts in the first half. He was protected by a sound pair of backs, who had in front of them half-backs who were fast and clever. In a speedy attack, McFarfane, Kelly and McCrae stood out.
