ABERDEEN'S EASY WIN AT PITTODRIE
Stenhousemuir are a poor team. They fought to the finish at Pittodrie on Saturday, yet they were well and truly beaten. There were weaknesses in the home team, but the visitors did not possess the power to exploit them.

The Dons had the points well in hand after the first half-hour. Ferguson gave them a flying start by scoring with less than a minute played.
Probably this goal had something to do with the poor show served up by the visitors.
Aberdeen's experiment of playing Pattillo at centre half was not a success. The former Hall, Russell's player was never comfortable. Johnstone in goal was safe enough and the backs were seldom iin difficulties. Scott was the best or a very ordinary half-back line.

LIVELY RAIDER

Williams, a lively raider throughout, was an the most dangerous of the home forwards. Ferguson played a useful game and was generally on the spot when a chance cropped up. He achieved a hat-trick.
Stewart and Strathie were outstanding in a Stenhousemuir defence that wilted under pressure. The forward line lacked cohesion. Rodi on the right wing, was the best of the line, and he would have been more successful had received better support.
Ferguson opened Aberdeen's account after Cooper had given Williams a clear run on the left. In eleven minutes a mix-up between Cooper and Pattillo allowed Crombie to level the scores.

SPATE OF SCORING

Bain restored the home team's lead when the Stenhousemuir defence failed to clear a ball sent over by Williams. Before the interval Thomson sent the left winger away and he cut in to make the total three.
Ferguson netted another following a corner by Smith, and Beattie dashed in to score a fifth when McNair pushed out a try by Williams. Ferguson notched the sixth after the visiting keeper had made a poor clearance.
