Scottish Reserve League
Aberdeen 3 - 0 Queens Park Strollers
Kick Off:    Walker, Walker, Neilson.
Attendance: 0
Venue: Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen
Queens Park Strollers provided the Christmas fare at Pittodrie yesterday, when Aberdeen A gained a reserve league victory by 3 goals to nil.

Aberdeen attacked strongly at the start, but although Walker and "Smith" forced the game, their efforts were futile. First danger from the Strollers came as the result of a spirited dash and fine cross by Drummond, the Aberdeen goalkeeper saving in clever style from Archibald. Once they had found their game, the Strollers sorely troubled the Aberdeen defence, and King saved a high shot from O'Brien, while he followed this up with another clever save from Hill. When Aberdeen again took up the aggressive the forwards could make little impression on the visitors' defence, although Walker forced a fruitless corner. Subsequently the home team were much the more aggressive, but they were easily thwarted a goalmouth. Wood on one occasion missed a splendid chance to open the score, and Walker narrowly missed with a header after "Smith" had crossed. Play continued in the Strollers' territory, but all the wiles of the forwards could not evade the defence of West and Miller. After a time the Strollers rallied, and King had to save in quick succession from Archibald, O'Brien and Brown, while at the other end Kerr baulked Walker after a clever run and shot. Play was badly lacking in incident, and took the form of a defensive duel. About 5 minutes from the interval, Walker carried the ball through the Queen's defence, and although hampered by West he and rightly put the ball out of Kerr's reach. Aberdeen had much the better of the play up to the interval, but failed to add to their score.

After the resumption the Queen's forced the game, and King was called upon on several occasions. In the course of time Aberdeen shook off the attack, and Walker headed narrowly over. On another occasion the upright saved the Queens, and H. "Smith" was baulked in the goal-mouth. On several occasions shots by the Aberdeen attack were somewhat fortunately blocked by the visitors' defence. Give-and-take play followed, until Walker finish a race with the backs by missing the ball. Aberdeen continued to have much the better of the exchange's, but in spite of numerous corners they failed to make good use of their chances. At last Walker got possession, and racing between the backs he got a clever goal. Just on the close Neilson added a third.
