Orion 1 - 0 Rangers, Aberdeen
Kick Off:    Mackay
Attendance: 0
Venue: Recreation Grounds, Inches, Aberdeen
The Orion's record is coming down. They met the Rangers at the Recreation Grounds on Saturday, and beat them by one goal to nil. There is a decided improvement in the latter's play since the last match I witnessed with the Orion, but I must say they are a little on the rough side yet. Next time I hope they will be free from it.

The Orion and Rangers were booked for and met on Saturday in the Recreation Ground a few minŽutes after the hour fixed. The weather was all that could be desired, scarce a zephyr stirring. In the early part of the game, the play was conŽfined mostly to the Rangers territory. But every point was carefully guarded. The backs, Aitchison and Geaters playing well, prevented the slightest vantage being gained. McKay, right forward, however, very cleverly dribbled the ball up the right wing and succeeded, in a slight scramble at the goal, in passing it through. This was the only scoring during this half hour or indeed during the game.

On a change of sides the Orion were again first in advancing, but their opponents offered a determined resistance and for a long time had much the best of the play. Twice indeed the Orion were on the point of scoring but as cleverly did McPherson, standing sentinel, amid the applause of the spectators, frustrate the attempt. Kelly played an extremely good game for the Rangers. The play during the remainder of the game seemed just a little wild if we might judge by the frequency with which the Rangers bit the dust, but Antaeus-like they rose to the charge with renewed vigour.
