The Aberdeen 2 - 1 Orion
Kick Off:    Ritchie, Robertson       ?
Attendance: 0
Venue: Chanonry, Aberdeen
A friendly match between these two elevens at Chanonry drew together a large crowd of spectators. The ground men were fortunate in winning the toss, and thus in the first period, having the advantage of a strong wind, secured most of the play. Orion, however, played well on the defensive, and once or twice broke away and became dangerous. At the end of twenty minutes Ritchie scored, and subsequently Key, very much out of position on the left, sent the ball across the goal mouth, and Robertson knocked it through. At the call of the half, W. S. Brown kicked a stinging shot, which was capitally saved by Low.
In the second period the Orion made gallant efforts to defeat their opponents, who, however, kept their goal intact until Caithness, foolishly rushed out and missed the leather, the ball rolling through. Result of match: Aberdeen 2, Orion 1. Neither team played up to form.
