This match was played in Montrose Street Park, Brechin, before, a large turnout of spectators. In the first half Brechin played against a strong wind, and making 2 to the Orion's 4. On sides being changed the teams made 3 more each, the match thus ending in favour of the Orion by 7 goals to 5.

The Orion journeyed to Brechin, and tackled the club of that name in a friendly (?) game. The visitors at the very outset took up the running, and scored goal after goal in rapid succession. This seemed to nettle the home team, who played rather more forcibly than was pleasant to the visitors, as they found to their cost, Whitehead, Jarvis, and Leggat all being injured, the latter leaving the field twenty minutes from time with the game standing 7-2 in favour of the Aberdonians. The last fifteen minutes of the game the Brechin notched three points, a rough match ending in favour of the strangers by 7 goals to 5. This is the second time this season the Orion have inflicted defeat on the Brechin, the last occasion being at Central Park, when the Orion were victorious by 3 goals to 2. This rather upsets our last week's report of the Brechin being a gentlemanly team, but probably their vigorous play was caused by seeing defeat looming before them.
