match report 1891-92 fixture list
Orion 2 - 1 East End, Dundee
Kick Off:    Innes, Leggat       Sturrock
Attendance: 0
Venue: Central Park, Aberdeen
This match was played on Saturday afternoon at Central Park, Kittybrewster, before a good attendance of spectators. The ground was not in favourable condition, being slippery and hard.
The home team kicked off, playing downhill but their opponents soon invaded. About five minutes from the start, Sturrock, the inside right, scored in smart style. The Orion pressed, and on several occasions experienced hard lines, but eventually on corner being conceded, Innes equalised with a beautiful shot. Until the finish of the first half, the Orion had the best of matters, but failed to increase their score. Fraser missed a couple of easy chances to improve the position of his side, and the teams crossed over with the figures standing: Orion 1, East-End 1.
On resuming, the Dundee men kept the home team upon the defensive. About 20 minutes before the call of time, a combined rush by the Orion forwards terminated in Leggat notching the second and winning point. Speaking generally, the Orion played a good aggressive game in the first half, and in the second period maintained a capital defence.
