Aberdeen acquitted themselves well on Falkirk, and under the circumstances did extremely well to share in a draw to which each side contributed a goal. In the first half both defenses were severely tried, and Aberdeen, if anything, were unlucky not to have scored before the interval. Main had one bad miss, but on the other hand he had several very creditable efforts, on one occasion the crossbar saving the Falkirk goal after he had outwitted two opponents and shot. Glancy and Robertson were prominent for Falkirk, but apart from Main's effort the shooting on both sides was weak.
In the second half Aberdeen were without Archibald for a time, but they defended well, Anderson, Colman, Hume, and Wyllie doing good work. Gibbons opened the scoring for Falkirk, but Aberdeen strove hard for a well-deserved equalising goal which Wyllie secured in characteristic fashion about 5 minutes from the end. The game was not without its bright passages, but the forward play never reached the standard of the defence. The result was quite in accordance with the run of the game, and Aberdeen played better and for some weeks past. Best for Aberdeen were Colman, Hume, Wyllie, Main, and Archibald, and for Falkirk, Orrock, Riley, Macdonald, and Gibbons. The attendance was 5000.
