match report 1915-16 fixture list
Div 1 (Old)
Rangers 4 - 0 Aberdeen
Kick Off:    Cunningham (pen), Reid, Cunningham, Cairns
Attendance: 15,000
Venue: Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow
There were 10,000 spectators at Ibrox, Glasgow, to see the meeting of the Rangers and Aberdeen. The Rangers proved the better team, but they found the Northerners' defence very sound. Cunningham scored for the Ibrox team in the first half, and after the interval goals were added by Reid, Cunningham, and Cairns.

Aberdeen met Rangers at Ibrox Park before a large crowd, fully 15,000 being present when the second half commenced. The first half was evenly contested, when Aberdeen had several splendid tries. With a little luck they should have scored. Following three corners the Light Blues attacked in force, and one of Aberdeen's defenders was penalised within the dreaded area. Cunningham, who was entrusted with the kick, placed his side one up. The game was keenly contested until the interval.

Aberdeen in the second period failed to maintain their first half standard, and never looked like making good. Reid early added to his team's lead, and Cunningham followed with a third. Cairns closd the scoring with a fourth goal. All through the Rangers gave a sound display, and deserved their handsome win. Aberdeen's goalkeeper and backs could not be blamed for any of the goals, while the halves were easily beaten in the second half. The forwards were feeble.
