A match between Aberdeen and King's Park (Stirling) was played at Chanonry, the teams being: Aberdeen: Ramsay; Ketchen, Wood; Morren, Singleton, Ewan; A. Whitehead, Shepherd, Toman, Fred. Whitehead, Frank Whitehead. King's Park: Ferguson; McKinnon, Graham; Machan, Connon, Miller; McInnes, Machan, Thomson, McInnes, and Gray.
The visitors were the first to invade, but the defence was strong, and, after some cross kicking, they were compelled to retire, having only succeeded in sending the ball behind the posts. Aberdeen then had a try, but were like their opponents - unsuccessful. In the subsequent play both teams showed well, and on more than one occasion the Chanonry men had decidedly hard lines. But at length the perseverance of the "Whites" was rewarded, Singleton not long before half-time sending in a beauty, which registered the first goal. When the teams crossed over the King's Park were still without a point.
After a prolonged period of defensive play in the second half, the home forwards made off with the leather, and Shepherd had the honour of heading it past the Stirling custodian. With the greatest determination, the "Sons of the Rock" then attacked Ramsay's charge, and after a keen tussle registered their first and only goal. The result was thus: Aberdeen 2 goals, King's Park 1 goal.
