Played at Clepington Park, Dundee. The teams were: Johnstone Wanderers: Gould; Fairweather, Robertson; Cuthbert, "Williams," Rollo; Aimer, Chalmers, Lonie, McWee, Craig. Victoria United: Cannon; Foote, Ririe; Morrice, Annand, Ritchie; Turner, Benzie, Clark, Smith, Ferries.
The Wanderers kicked off, and for the first twenty minutes the game was pretty equal. The Dundee team were unable to penetrate the United's defence, and loose shooting on the part of the "Blues" forwards lost them several opportunities of scoring. McWee scored the first goal for the Wanderers, and not long after, from a scrimmage in front of the United's goal, the ball was sent through. About this time the play of the Aberdeen combination fell away, while the Wanderers played with renewed vigour. Within 10 minutes the Dundee men scored two goals. The Victoria United had two grand opportunities of scoring just before half-time, but these were spoiled, the first by a wild shot by Annand, and the second through the selfish play of Clark. In the second portion of the game the Wanderers had by far the best of the play, and goal after goal was piled on. Result: Johnstone Wanderers, 9; Victoria United 1.
