No Opportunists At Pittodrie

The team had to be reshuffled again this week. Team changes do not help towards greater understanding on the field and may be the reason for some of the erratic displays by our "A" team. The game against Clyde Reserves opened well and when Thomson scored after 10 minutes we sat back expecting a rousing game - something like the Hibs "A" friendly, maybe. But the game gradually fell away as a spectacle and the second half was positively drab. This state of affairs was possibly due, to the keen tackling on both sides.
The Clyde team was destructive rather than constructive. The display of the home team was a bit patchy with young Smith catching the eye at inside-right. Smith gave a most promising display and was quickly fixed up for the Dons after the game. Thomson took his goal well, but was clearly out of position at centre-forward. Young Watson, on leave, made a welcome reappearance in goal. He seems to have completely recovered from the injury received while playing in Army football.
