This match was played at Pittodrie Park in fine holiday weather, before only a good attendance of spectators. Teams: Aberdeen ? Bisset; McHattie, Thomson; Cameron, Taylor, W. Davidson; James Mackie, A. Davidson, C. Mackie, Gray, Robertson. Stenhousemuir ? Stoddart; Duff, Weir; ?, ?, ?; McNair, Pollock, Doig, Gibb Russell. Referee: Mr. James Philip, Aberdeen.

Aberdeen kicked off, but the visitors got on the ball, and attacked Bisset. While endeavouring to clear, McHattie shot into his own goal. The homesters came away on the right, but they relied too much on individual effort, with the result that nothing was gained. Bisset was assailed again and again, but he stuck to his post, and saved brilliantly, even against great odds. After some fine play, however, Doig managed to head the ball into the net. The Aberdeen forwards made strenuous efforts to regain lost ground, but these were nullified by the somewhat reckless shooting near the goalmouth. The Stenhousemuir were soon able to add another goal to their total through Russell, who netted with a fine swift shot. The Aberdeen defence was unable to keep back the visitors, who had no difficulty in obtaining a fourth, Doig doing the scoring. Russell shortly afterwards repeated this performance by putting through a fifth.

In the second half the excitement in the play decreased somewhat. The Aberdeen made strenuous efforts to score, but Stoddart warded off every attempt in that direction. The forwards were certainly energetic, but they were no match for the visitors. They at length succeeded in getting through the cordon and gaining a goal, J. Mackie scoring. This brilliant achievement was again performed by Mackie shortly after. McNair netted a sixth goal for the visitors. Gray secured a third goal for Aberdeen.
