The first mneeting of the Aberdeen and Orion teams in the Northern League this season took place on Saturday afternoon at Pittodrie Park, in splendid weather and before a large turnout of spectators. Aberdeen started off towards the east end of the field, but were pulled up by Thomson. A spell of end to end play followed, neither side showing any advantage. Towards the close of the first half, Willox tried for goal with a long shot, but Douglas succeeded in heading the ball out. Wilson, however, who was lying in fine position, with a fine screw sent the sphere into the net. Almost immediately afterwards, however, C. Mackie boke through the Orion's defence, and equalised.
On resuming, the Orion at once assumed the aggressive, but O'Brien cleared, and play was transferred to the other end of the field. After several attacks on the "Stripes" citadel, J. Mackie, witha fine shot, gave Aberdeen the lead. Davidson again scored for the homesters, but the point was disallowed. Just before the close, the Prion had to concede a penalty, and O'Brien easily scored.
