Fraserburgh Wanderers 0 - 4 The Aberdeen

These teams met in the Bellslea Park, Fraserburgh, on Saturday, in the semi-final of the Aberdeenshire Cup ties. There was a large turnout of spectators present. The teams were:- Aberdeen: Bisset; O'Brien, Dakers; J. Mackie, Thomson, Robertson; Brash, C. Mackie, Livingstone, Davidson, McHardy. Fraserburth: Noble; Fraser, Purdie; Clark, Milne, Noble; Mitchell, Massie, Buchan, Young, Paterson.

Aberdeen opened the game in lively fashion, and Noble was early called upon to save a hot shot from Davidson. The Wanderes then had a look in, Buchan getting well away, and passing out to Paterson, who tried a shot at goal. He sent the ball wide of the mark, however. Brash and C. Mackie next showed their prowess, and got well up the field, but Purdie was well prepared, and cleared his lines. Buchan and Young again beat the Aberdeen halves, and Young tried a shot, which struck the outside of the upright. Fifteen minutes from the start, Davidson accepted a fine pass from the right wing, and made no mistake in his shooting. The Wanderers played well after this, and but for the sound defence of the Aberdeen team, success would have attended the former's efforts. A combined run by the Aberdeen forwards ended in a second goal being scored, Davidson again distinguishing himself. The game became very fast, and the home team had equally as much of the game as the Aberdeen, but the finish up of their attacks was generally weak. The game was a very much öffside" one, the Fraserburgh men being pulled up repeatedly for this offence. Before half-time the visitors added to their total, O'Brien scoring from a penalty kick.

Aberdeen were the first to become conspicuous in the second portion of the game, and Noble was called upon to clear. After this the Fraserburgh team played an exceptionally fine game, and had a good share of the play. At this stage Mackie retired from the field, suffering from the effects of an injury received while playing against Dundee A. Throughout the second half the game was keenly contested. The Aberdeen failed to add to their total until the last few minutes of the game, when C. Mackieput on anther goal.
