08/04/1911 | KO:

Aberdeen A travelled to Peterhead on Saturday afternoon and played the senior 11 in a friendly game in the Recreation Park. The teams were:-

Aberdeen: Greig; Hannah, Harper; Watson, Findlay, Low; Hay, Towns, McGunn, Macfarlane, Neilson.
Peterhead: Buchan; Strachan, MacIntosh; Gall, Davidson, Thomson; Imlah, Scott, Wilson, Cadger, Strachan.
Mister R. Massie, Peterhead, had charge of the game.

Aberdeen kicked off, and for a time looked dangerous, until McGunn was pulled up for offside. Shortly after they got away on the right, and Hay forced a corner, but nothing resulted. Played ruled in midfield for a period, but Peterhead gradually came nearer Greig, and Scott gave Cadger an opportunity, but he shot a weekly past. Scott then tried for a goal, and Greig had some difficulty in clearing. Nielsen got away on the left several times, and his crosses were good, but McIntosh and Strachan were safe, and punted well out. Scott afterwards gave Wilson several chances, but his shooting was erratic, the ball going wildly over. When the whistle blew for the interval neither team had scored.

Play was very poor during the second half, neither side exerting themselves. Aberdeen looked like scoring when one of the backs filed within the penalty area. The kick was taken by Harper, who had little difficulty in scoring. Play was from end to end after this, although Imlah tested Greig with a beautiful drive, which was saved at the expense of a corner. The visitors then got away close on time, and Hay crossed to Macfarlane, who shot past Buchan.
