Referee Russell's Benefit At Pittodrie
A friendly game for the benefit of Mr. J. H. Russel, referee, Aberdeen, was played last night that Pittodrie, the opposing teams being Aberdeen and a selection of players from the local junior teams.
The Juniors kicked off in drizzling rain and indifferent light. The senior team took up the running from the first, and made several onslaughts on the Juniors' goal. In these Sallies Brown was usually to the fore, and twice he tested Fulton, who, however, cleared on both occasions. From a kick by Duffus, Taylor carried the game into the Aberdeen's quarters, and after negotiating the defence, netted the ball.
A steady downpour of rain and feeble liked prevailed in the second half, and the game was entirely lacking in spirit. In a tussle almost at the goalmouth Edgar kicked, and the ball past Barclay from off Hume's foot. Robertson, a few minutes later, added a second to Aberdeen's total. The Juniors' made a fairly plucky display, but not one of them showed more than mediocre ability.
